Dr. Kelly Betts

Dr. Kelly Betts takes the time to listen and understand her patient’s needs and concerns in order to provide them with long-term stability and comfort. She believes in educating and empowering her patients so that they can achieve their personal oral health goals. While doing all of this, she strives to make every appointment a fun and inviting experience for every patient by engaging in conversation and laughter.
Dr. Kelly Betts is a General Dentist with experience in a wide range of comprehensive dental services, including cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign®, tongue-tie/lip-tie, sports dentistry, and more. Dr. Betts worked as a dental assistant and hygienist for almost 10 years before becoming a dentist, which has allowed her to develop a very unique perspective and approach to dental care.
Dr. Betts earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She furthered her education by completing her Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Towson University while working as a research clinician and study coordinator at the National Institutes of Health/National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research. Dr. Betts then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and finished her General Practice Residency at Veterans Affairs Medical Center – Dental Service in Washington, DC.
Dr. Betts is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Academy for Sports Dentistry. She has completed the prestigious mini-orthodontic residency in clear aligner therapy with Dr. Sandra Tai and she is a certified Invisalign® provider and certified in Botox treatment. Dr. Betts participates in multiple local study clubs and esteemed dental education continuums including Spear, Pankey, Dawson, Implant Pathways, and more. She is always striving to obtain the best knowledge and skills available to serve her patients and collaborate with her colleagues.
When it comes to serving patients with airway, tongue-tie, or lip-tie concerns, Dr. Betts has been trained by The Breathe Institute (TBI) under Dr. Soroush Zaghi, as well as other programs, and serves as a TBI Ambassador working in collaboration with a multispecialty team to provide a functional approach to breathing and wellness. Working together with both local and national teams to serve patients with anything from sleep-disordered breathing, difficulties with breastfeeding, TMJ/TMD, speech or other functions, and more, has been a true passion for Dr. Betts and her collaborative team.
Dr. Betts also serves part-time as Clinical Faculty for the University of Maryland School of Dentistry’s Special Care & Geriatrics Clinic, specializing in providing comprehensive dental care for patients with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Betts enjoys sports and fitness, music, theatre, and home and garden projects. She enjoys cooking and feeding anyone and everyone; a skill and passion which she attributes to her mother. She lives in downtown Baltimore with her husband, Matt, and their two rescue dogs, Gary & Gladys.
